Lethargy in Infants
Lethargy is a serious medical term that has implications in pediatrics
Easy definition of medical lethargy is that the child is suddenly asleep and is extremely difficult to wake up.
When this happens, it's almost always a sign of a serious medical issue. These issues typically have 24 hours to be resolved before death can occur.
If a parent says that their infant is lethargic to a NP or medical professional, they are required to go straight to the ED. If they decline, the police will be called to do a wellness check or whatever.
